Autodesk acquires collaborative XR platform The Wild
Autodesk, the matrix of software tools as fundamental as AutoCAD, Maya or SketchBook, has announced the acquisition of The Wild, a extended reality platform in the cloud which has two AR/VR collaborative working solutions, IrisVR and The Wild, used in the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
Our acquisition reflects the rapid transformation that is occurring in the construction sector, since the complexity of the projects, to the geographical diversity of the teams that design, build and operate, so that the XR is a business imperative essential to today,” says Andrew Anagnost, CEO of Autodesk
The Wild and IrisVR already served about 700 customers, and now these two tools will join Autodesk’s others to harness the power of working in the cloud and on XR, achieving more productive, accessible, resilient, affordable and sustainable collaborative work. Designing remotely will make the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) industry a stronger and more agile sector, where teams can solve problems in minutes instead of days.
