To back things from the point of view of the old city, which recorded the beginning of the twentieth century, a wave of Modernisation, to the centre, instead of the hypnotized at the founding by Walter Gropius to stare, is the concern.

Social and practical, instead of pretentious and representative

Reason enough for the curators Grit Weber, Annika Sellmann, Klaus Klemp, and Matthias WagnerK to make this year, the Bauhaus’s founding year, the starting point of your Look, even though the “New Frankfurt” in the true sense took until the mid-twenties shape.

In 1930, it showed signs of disintegration, as Ernst May was in the Soviet Union. He would have become as famous as Gropius, if he had emigrated to the United States?

Through Virtual Reality in the inter-war period

The exhibition spans the range until the seizure of power in 1933, and thus follows the narrative patterns of the democratic avant-garde, which was liquidated by the Nazis. Continuities in the time of the dictatorship, and in addition, they are not followed. She wants to remember the “world open, objective, and future spirit” of the city, the farmer, has conjured up.

The serene Frankfurt-Modern
