Snapdragon Spaces XR now available for all developers
Qualcomm Technologies has announced the opening of its Snapdragon Spaces XR platform to creators. The software is now available for download and, in addition, you can purchase a hardware development kit that includes Lenovo ThinkReality A3 AR glasses and a Motorola Edge+, Edge 30 Pro or Motorola Edge X30 mobile.
The platform for developers Snapdragon Spaces XR it was announced at the end of last year, and until today it was in the early access phase. It offers tools for the creation of AR content and integrates various functions: spatial mapping and meshing, occlusion, plane detection, recognition and tracking of objects and images, anchors and persistence in the real world of virtual objects, scene understanding, absolute positioning and hand tracking.
Individual creators or companies can already download the software, and also request a development kit through the Snapdragon Spaces website, although at the moment the list of countries to which it is sent is small, and Spain is not among them.
The company has also disclosed investments in echo3D and Tripp through Qualcomm Ventures as part of their project Snapdragon Metaverse Fund, to which it has already allocated $100 million. In addition, it has expanded the support program for AR application developers Snapdragon Spaces Pathfinder, to which more than 20 companies have already applied.
