MTS offers consultations with doctors online

The MTS telecom operator has initiated its own project in the field of telemedicine: by downloading a mobile application, users can receive remote consultations from a therapist, cardiologist, gastroenterologist and other specialists.

In April 2018, the largest Russian mobile operator MTS and the largest network of private clinics in Russia “Medsi” launched SmartMed mobile application for online consultations with doctors. Available on Android and iOS, the program allows the patient, wherever he is, to get the help of doctors via video communication. The patient can also chat with the doctor and exchange images, for example, send photos of the results of previous tests and appointments.

You can get an online appointment not only with a therapist and a pediatrician, but also with narrow-profile specialists: obstetrician-gynecologist, allergist-immunologist, gastroenterologist, cardiologist, neurologist, otolaryngologist and endocrinologist.

The appointment can be urgent (only a therapist and a cardiologist) and by appointment (all doctors). Initially, consultations were provided free of charge. Since June 2018, their cost is both urgent and by appointment — it is 550 rubles. Money can be debited both from a bank card and from an MTS mobile account. The app itself is free. Doctors are available on weekdays from 8: 00 to 21: 00 Moscow time. The last urgent online consultation can be ordered at 20: 40. Total connected to the application more than 2 thousand doctors.

The application also allows you to find the nearest polyclinics and make an appointment with a local doctor, call an emergency at home. There is no charge for these actions.

& #13;
The application provides detailed up-to-date information about specialists: position, specialization, education, work experience, professional achievements, scientific activity, sphere of practical interests, etc. All documents — electronic medical records, treatment history, appointments and test results-are stored in the MTC cloud. A set of specialized security solutions certified according to the requirements of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) is used to protect data.

The medical business of two sisters

MTS and Medsi are “sister” companies, both are included in the investment portfolio of Sistema. The partners ‘ investments in the SmartMed project amounted to 30 million rubles. At the same time, MTS took over the development of the service component of the project and technical solutions. The company does not say how much it plans to earn on telemedicine — an unconventional direction for a mobile operator, but it is optimistic about this, as is its partner. “High professional competencies, advanced medical experience and a wide range of specialization of Medsi doctors will make high-quality medical care more accessible to the population, which is especially important for remote regions of the country, small towns, rural areas, where you can consult only with general doctors or with a limited number of doctors of basic specialties”, – commented in “Medsi”.

The two” daughters “of Sistema will have to work in a competitive market. SmartMed is not the only remote medical services service in Russia. In November 2017, Megafon launched its own project. The application ” Megafon.Health” it allows you to get remote consultations from specialists of a number of clinics with which the operator has concluded agreements. Total available more than 1 thousand doctors in 39 specializations. The company charges a fee not for consultation, but for the time of use. A total of 3 days are given, and the cost is 150 or 299 rubles., depending on the composition of the service.

In April 2017, own the Yandex. Health project launched the largest Russian search engine. Consultations can be obtained through the website or mobile application. The company selects doctors from Moscow clinics with an average experience of 9 years. The cost of a standard consultation — 499 rubles. There are also express consultation at the price of 99 rubles. (5 minutes, one question).

It is worth noting that until the end of 2017, consultations via the Internet were only advisory in nature. Officially, telemedicine appeared in Russia on January 1, 2018, when it came into force Federal Law No. 242 “On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation on the use of information technologies in the field of health protection”.

According to MTS and HSE, by the end of 2018, the volume of the telemedicine market in Russia will reach approximately 18.5 billion rubles. Analysts believe that in the period up to 2023, revenue from the provision of telemedicine services in Russia will grow by an average of 30% per year and by the end of this year will be able to reach 68 billion rubles. The research conducted by the companies also showed that more than 80% of Russians would you like to receive medical consultations via the Internet, and 98% we would like to receive the results of tests, conclusions and other medical documents in electronic form.

According to the forecast of the subgroup “Internet+Medicine”, which is part of the working group on the development of the Internet under the presidential administration, by the end of 2018, every fourth state medical organization will be able to introduce telemedicine technologies and will provide assistance to patients remotely via the Internet. This will make telemedicine services available to 20% of residents of hard-to-reach regions of Russia.

According to P & amp; S Market Research, in 2017, the volume of the global telemedicine market it amounted to $32.8 billion. At the same time, the demand for remote assistance in the treatment of chronic diseases after an initial examination by a doctor is mainly growing. Analysts predict that in the period up to 2023, the world market of medical services will be grow by an average of 18.8% annually and it will exceed $80 billion. The main drivers of growth will be: the increase in the cost of healthcare, government investments and grants in telemedicine, the steadily growing penetration of smartphones and the growing share of chronic diseases and diseases caused by lifestyle.
