French startup has developed a telescope control from your smartphone: video

French startup Vaonis introduced the “smart” telescope Vespera, which can be controlled via smartphone. The invention has already received the award 2021 CES Best of Innovation Award in the field of digital image processing and photos.

Instead of the eyepiece Vespera displays the image on the mobile device, and the telescope is controlled via a mobile app. The device uses the GPS of the smartphone for calibration, so it requires almost no special settings, making them simple to use for users, little understanding of complex optical systems.
