Five great professionals will form the jury of the 2nd edition of Next Lab
The second edition of Next Lab that is already underway has announced the five professionals from the world of animation and communication that will form its jury. Perhaps the best known name is Nick Ladd, one of the pioneers of VR animation and who has worked on projects such as the series drawn with the tool Quill Tales from Soda Island.
In addition to the canadian Nick Ladd, the jury is formed by Arnaud Miquel (coordinator XR Festival of Animated Film in Annecy), Manuel González (director of the program Zoom Net TVE), Carmen Córdoba (creator of the short film Roberto in the previous edition) and Úrsula García (co-founder of the production company The Frank Barton Company).
On February 25 and 26, Next Lab will hold the event that will put the finishing touch to the second edition of its workshop. Before showing the pitch of the 10 finalist projects, you can attend a series of lectures given by Nick Ladd, Daniel M. Lara (animator winner of a Goya), Enrique Gato (director of Tadeo Jones) and Daniel Martínez Peixe (ROV collaborator and animator at Moon Studios).
Nick Ladd’s presentation, Masters of VR Animation, will focus on his most recent works, such as the short film Namoo for Baobab Studios (shortlisted for the Oscars 2022) and in those of the Virtual Animation collective. Another of the outstanding conferences will be the masterclass New technologies for storyboard and animatic in which Daniel M. Lara will make a live demo and which later Enrique Gato and Daniel Martínez Peixe will join to tell their experiences in the animation sector.
