Accessible on the Steam platform and on Google Arts & Culture, the discovery of this heritage jewel closed to the public offers a lot of emotions.

Once connected to the Steam site, and virtual reality headset on the nose, we take a trip back 36,000 years, transported to Ardèche at the foot of the Pont d’Arc. In front of us, a fire crackles. We turn on ourselves by looking up, down, left and then right. We are in an encampment of prehistoric men. A river flows below. “This is where we stopped under a big arch,” whispers Cécile from France. In the English version, this is the voice of Daisy Ridley, the heroine of the last Star Wars. Torch in hand, we enter a cave. A cave bear walks placidly. He’s at home. We’re going a little deeper. When our flaming torch approaches the rock walls, drawings, frescoes and engravings of animals appear. Mammoths, aurochs, ibex, felines, horses, bears… The effect is magical. The experience, which lasts ten minutes, is very simple compared to the extraordinary virtual tour of the proposed Cheops Pyramid…
