Developing this AR-based application came with several challenges. First, ensuring the accuracy of medical visualizations required collaboration with healthcare professionals to create representations that were both scientifically precise and easy to understand. Second, integrating AR functionalities across a wide range of devices with varying hardware capabilities posed a technical hurdle. Finally, balancing high-quality 3D models and seamless AR performance while maintaining app compatibility with common smartphones required extensive optimization.
To overcome these challenges, we utilized Unity3D with C# and integrated AR frameworks like ARFoundation and EasyAR to deliver a robust and scalable solution. Our development team collaborated closely with medical experts to design highly detailed 3D models of organs, accurately depicting the physical changes that occur during disease progression. Each organ’s behavior was paired with interactive AR features, allowing users to rotate, zoom, and explore the visualizations intuitively.
A core focus was creating an application that was both user-friendly and scientifically reliable. The interface was designed with simplicity in mind, offering intuitive navigation for users without technical expertise. Medical accuracy was ensured by conducting iterative reviews with professionals from the healthcare industry throughout the development process. Advanced optimization techniques were applied to ensure smooth performance, even on mid-range devices, enabling broader accessibility.
The final product, Cardio View, effectively bridges the gap between medical science and modern technology. By pointing the device’s camera at the company logo, users can access an immersive AR experience that demonstrates disease progression across seven internal organs and systems. This innovative approach makes the app a valuable tool for medical education, patient communication, and health awareness campaigns.
