No more FFP2 masks in buses and trains in NRW

Dusseldorf (dpa/lnw) – In public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia, there is no longer a duty to wear an FFP2 or KN95 mask since Saturday. As can be seen from the new corona protection regulation of the country, a so-called surgical mask is now sufficient. The Ministry of Transport pointed out the innovation on Twitter. At the end of April, the so-called federal emergency brake introduced the nationwide obligation to wear an FFP2 mask in buses, trains and at stops. Previously, a surgical mask had also sufficed.
The Düsseldorf transport company Rheinbahn wrote on Facebook on Saturday: “Uuuupsss… Sometimes easing comes faster than expected, ” and also pointed to the change. “FFP2 masks are of course still welcome,” says the Rheinbahn.
