How to play Resident Evil 2 and 3 in Virtual Reality

How to play Resident Evil 2 and 3 in virtual reality?

Explore the zombie-infested streets of Raccoon City in virtual reality with the following mods.

Last October, Capcom released an official VR remake of the legendary action-horror game Resident Evil 4 on Meta Quest headsets. This game immediately became a hit among players and critics, because it offered one of the best virtual reality experiences for a single user in 2021. And what about other games of the cult horror franchise Capcom? Will there still be an opportunity to wander through the frightening corridors of the Raccoon City Police Department in virtual reality?

The answer is YES! Thanks to the incredible efforts of a modder named Praydog, you will be able to complete the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 games on any PC VR headset that is compatible with the SteamVR platform. You can go through the whole company alone in virtual reality with motion control support. This also applies to weapons such as grenades. There is also physical damage from the knife, which allows you to punch your way through zombies.

Suffice it to say that we need a virtual reality game, as well as a computer that will support virtual reality.

The modding process is quite simple. Here's how to get started:

    - Download and install Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 on Steam.

-Download and install SteamVR and follow the on-screen instructions to set up a virtual reality headset for PC.

    - visit GitHub and download the zip file for RE2 and/or RE3.

    - extract the file from each zip file to the appropriate game installation folders.

That's all. As mentioned earlier, the game has full support for motion controllers, as well as a realistic clash of weapons. The scenes are made in 3D, which is a step forward compared to the two-dimensional scenes of Resident Evil 4 VR. Below you can find a full description of the new features (provided by praydog):

    - deployed scripting system using Lua

    - General 6DOF VR support in RE7, RE2, RE3, RE8, DMC5 and MHRISE

    - full motion control in RE2 and RE3 (when using FirstPerson it is not enabled by default)

    - physical knife damage in RE2/RE3

    - throwing grenades in RE2/RE3

-Early WIP motion controls for RE8

The mod also has basic 6DOF VR support for Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 8, although not as developed as in RE2 and RE3
