Pimax Crystal will receive the front of tracking Lighthouse in August

Pimax it has announced the arrival next month of the front that will allow the viewer to work with Valve’s Tracking Lighthouse (by default it has inside-out tracking). He has also shared a video detailing some of the latest developments in Pimax’s software and the features included in its Crystal viewer.

Some of the features mentioned in the video:

• Local dimming adjustable (from off to extreme with several intermediate steps).
• Improved tracking ring on the controllers.
• New power hub to extend battery life up to 8 hours.
• Tracking of the fingers on the controls.
• Optional Big FOV lens that increases the FOV by 15%.
• Native resolution (not rescaled) of 2880×2880 at 120 Hz.
• Eye tracking and Dynamic Foveated Rendering at the software client level, to ensure compatibility with almost all VR games.

The standalone mode is still planned for this year (Crystal integrates an XR2). And as for its accessory for mixed reality, the announcement of Apple Vision Pro is making them focus more on this front that will allow augmented reality experiences “in full color”.
