Internet drones (IoD) — immediate reality

Internet drones (Internet of drones, IoD) is a layered architecture of network management is intended mainly to coordinate the access of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV, drones, drones) controlled airspace and the provision of navigation services between locations, called nodes (nodes). Internet drones provides shared services for various applications of unmanned aerial vehicles, such as delivery of packets, monitoring traffic, search and rescue and more.1

In 2015, analysts at BI Intelligence has released a report, The Drones Report with forecasts for the global UAV market. They predicted that in 2021, the proceeds from the sales of UAVs will grow to $12 billion.

Currently, the Federal office of civil aviation USA (Federal Aviation Administration, FAA) restricts the use of drones relatively small number of industries and applications such as video surveillance in agriculture, extraction of natural resources, the oil and gas sector.

As of March 2016, the United States acted 3136 commercial UAV operators. Drones used for aerial photography earth from the air and various kinds of inspection. Made in California drone photos lead exploration, oil companies in Texas use them to find places to drill and inspect air drilling rigs and other equipment. In California and Florida, large areas are farms, where increasingly use drones for various purposes.

The drone can be equipped with a variety of sensors — from cameras to multispectral sensors of radiation, magnetic fields, thermal cameras, metal detectors, etc. On the website RoboTrends2 lists almost 60 potential applications of drones, and, of course, is not a complete list.

Now imagine a situation where in the village over the same cottage at the same time, there are a few drones, each of which focuses on the solution to your problem:

    aviamanager transmission lines
    — identification of objects of illegal construction
    — delivery of a defibrillator to the physician at the moment aid to the patient with a heart attack
    — identification of violations of environmental legislation
    delivery post urinating
    — the fee for a local farmer the information needed for precise application of pesticides and herbicides
    — search for missing cat

All these drones belong to different companies or individual users. Alone on the remote control, the other components of the robotic systems, which drones automatically recharges the batteries, will fly the routes on a schedule, perform fly-around and photography (CCTV) in automatic mode, return to the Parking location and sending the information to the system automated processing.3

Pilots of agricultural aircraft have fear of collisions with subtle drones. It is believed that this problem can be solved by setting the drones on the flashing lights and tracking systems. But to prevent collisions between drones flashing lights are unlikely to help, especially in the cities, where their density per cubic kilometer can be quite significant. But not razminuvshis over the street drones can crash down on the heads of passers-by, provoking a cascading collision of cars or obeying Murphy’s law, fall exactly where they can do the most damage.

The owner of the cottage, over which appeared a swarm of drones, not only out of himself but out onto the porch with a shotgun. Or, if such is permitted by law, with some antepronotum a gun (for example, DroneGun Tactical company DroneShield),4 which suppresses the signals of the drone, causing it, depending on the built-in program, or a quick landing, or returns to the launching point.

So, the traffic drones must be regulated. Use them in the corridors and trains of the zone closed for flights, track the location in space, be equipped with devices that prevent a collision. And to enable control of the drones, the transfer of the collected information are protected from unauthorized use by criminals and terrorists, periodic recharging and more. It is assumed that the solution to all these problems will contribute to the creation and development of Internet drones.

Work in this direction is already underway. You can read about in the article “Internet drones (IoD) — the technological revolution X. 0?”.
